



Matej Bel University (MBU) is a public higher education institution that achieved university status in 2010 and is a member of the European University Association.
The university currently comprises seven faculties: the Faculty of Economics, the Faculty of Arts, the Faculty of Natural Sciences, the Faculty of Law, the Faculty of Political Science and International Relations, the Faculty of Education, and the Faculty of Physical Education, Sports, and Health. The university offers a classic range of university education opportunities at all three levels and forms of studies in the areas of education, social issues, economy, law, politics, humanities and natural sciences, in the fields of international relations, economic specializations and mathematics. In addition, it also provides Anglophonic and partially Francophonic studies. Matej Bel University develops joint study programmes and has contracts with major foreign universities, where the students have the opportunity to complete part of their studies. Therefore, MBU graduates are efficient in finding their place in the labour market not only at home but also abroad.
As well as educational, scientific and artistic activities, a significant part of creative MBU activities is represented by basic and applied research in cooperation with national and international institutions. The University is a centre of research excellence and scientific and development projects are funded by menas of European Structural Funds. Furthermore, it implements lifelong learning in a variety of courses and forms of the MBU Children´s University and the MBU University of the Third Age. Finally, it provides students with sufficient opportunities for a variety of social activities through a wide range of sports clubs, artistic ensembles and student organisations functioning at MBU.

Charles University - Second Faculty of Medicine
The Second Faculty of Medicine is part of Charles University in Prague, its history dates back to 1348.
It is based at Motol University Hospital, where teaching also takes place in lecture halls and clinical departments. Theoretical subjects are mostly taught at the Plzeňská Campus; some clinical teaching takes place at Na Bulovce Hospital and at the Military University Hospital. Our students also have internships and practical training in other hospitals.
The main goal of the faculty is to provide high-quality medical education and advance medical knowledge through research and training of skilled doctors. Despite being based at one of Europe’s largest hospitals, it remains a smaller faculty in terms of undergraduate student numbers. Its strong clinical background ensures top-tier practical training.
